A steep slope and a long narrow garden is tricky enough. This garden already had existing decking, which had to be integrated into the design.

The design created steps from the decking leading to a second, paved, seating area. A vegetable garden featuring wooden planters was created. A curved flower border leads towards the other end of the garden, with a mini-orchard surrounding a circular raised terrace, to draw the eye towards it.

The client has been using divisions from local gardens to fill the borders on a budget. I'm looking forward to be back next year to see how the plants softened the landscaping.
